Massage in Wanaka

Marlene Laureys - After gaining a Diploma in aromatherapy and aromatherapy massage in 1997 I went on to learn trigger point massage techniques under both a Wanaka Physiotherapy clinic and Osteopath for 5 years.

I further specialized in trigger point therapy in Christchurch under guidance of a Physiotherapist who teaches Neuromuscular techniques to physiotherapists all over the world, and in different sports massage techniques, being part of the fantastic Russley Sports Massage team for 5 years.

I worked both from Physical Sense Physiotherapy Christchurch from 2008 till 2013 and Russley Sports Massage from 2009 till 2014.

My client base ranges from professional athletes a well as week end warriors or people just wanting headache or sore neck release. Don't take my word for it, go check out my testimonials.

I have always lived an active life style, both professionally and privately. I enjoy being outdoors, and love lifestyle sports. Windsurfing, skiing, hiking, kitesurfing, surfing, and a bit of running and biking to keep cardio fit. I also practice yoga, at least three times a week.

I moved back home to "Wanaka" because I love the place and my beautiful family and friends are here.

Kristyna - I am from the Czech Republic.

I studied physiotherapy and received a bachelor's degree with honors.
My education included clinical practice and a lot of anatomy, kinesiology and how to  diagnose.

I worked as a physiotherapist in a private rehab center with ambulatory care.
I had a variety of clients  including athletes.

I arrived in New Zealand a couple of months ago and fell in love with this country immediately.
Since I can't work here as a physiotherapist, and I love helping people, I decided to use my massage skills.

I believe that massage, trigger point release, myofascial mobilization and more are important parts of the healing process.
I always look at the body as a whole and try to focus on the key problems.
I also understand how frustrating it is to feel pain and not being able to perform at your best.

I am a keen outdoor person, love hiking and tramping and sleeping under a dark starry sky is definitely one of my favorite activities.

I  also enjoy  skiing, snowboarding, volleyball, via ferrata climbing, indoor climbing and hopefully one day outdoor climbing and last but not least yoga.
I also like to try new activities such as white water canoeing, paragliding or canyoning.
I am looking forward to meet you and work with you to achieve the best possible results.

Dania - I am 24 years old and from Germany.

Since a very early age, I was interested in how the human body works and what its limits are, so I decided to become a Physiotherapist.

After studying I started to work in a practice that was specialized in trigger point therapy and myofascia release for over a year.
I also  worked as a therapeutic nanny in the United States.

I  coached  youth at my track and field club back home and in winter worked as an Indoor Cycling Instructor at a nearby running club.

In my free time I love being active and you’ll probably find me someplace outdoors (preferably in the mountains) hiking, biking or running!

Maude Benoit - After pursuing an athletic career as a member of the National Judo Team of Canada, my passion to help people with physical injuries that prevent them from accomplishing their goals lead me to study to become a Chiropractor. After graduating I spent over 2 years working for a charity called World Spine Care in Botswana. Over the years, I have also worked with different sport teams and got involved to other sport events and competitions.

I am currently practicing massage therapy in New Zealand.  I use various soft tissues techniques as massage to help my patients with musculoskeletal problems to recover optimally.  I have experience working with patients from all walks of life from elite athletes to the elderly.  I have extensive clinical experience working with many conditions such as back and neck injuries, migraines, shoulder/knee conditions, etc.

Outside of martial arts, I am passionate about outdoors activities like hiking, snowboarding, climbing and horse riding and I immediately fell in love with this beautiful country and all it has to offer.  I am very glad to be able to continue helping people to live a healthy life and to achieve their goals in New Zealand!

Barb Hammer - After being a full time mum of three children for the last 5 years I can't wait to work as massage therapist again.

During my studying years at UNI in the Czech Republic I specialized in Regeneration in Sport and Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release. I worked with different kind of athletes from various sports background as a massage therapist. I also took an interest in taping technique.

I have a sound understanding of a woman's body during and after pregnancy, and know how hard our body works during this period. I am here to release back and neck pain, foot massage and anything I can help you with.

If you feel your body needs a restart, recovery, taking away stiffness or just relax I believe that massage will help a lot.
