Massage in Wanaka

Marlene Laureys - After gaining a Diploma in aromatherapy and aromatherapy massage in 1997 I went on to learn trigger point massage techniques under both a Wanaka Physiotherapy clinic and Osteopath for 5 years.

I further specialized in trigger point therapy in Christchurch under guidance of a Physiotherapist who teaches Neuromuscular techniques to physiotherapists all over the world, and in different sports massage techniques, being part of the fantastic Russley Sports Massage team for 5 years.

I worked both from Physical Sense Physiotherapy Christchurch from 2008 till 2013 and Russley Sports Massage from 2009 till 2014.

My client base ranges from professional athletes a well as week end warriors or people just wanting headache or sore neck release. Don't take my word for it, go check out my testimonials.

I have always lived an active life style, both professionally and privately. I enjoy being outdoors, and love lifestyle sports. Windsurfing, skiing, hiking, kitesurfing, surfing, and a bit of running and biking to keep cardio fit. I also practice yoga, at least three times a week.

I moved back home to "Wanaka" because I love the place and my beautiful family and friends are here.

Kristyna - I am from the Czech Republic.

I studied physiotherapy and received a bachelor's degree with honors.
My education included clinical practice and a lot of anatomy, kinesiology and how to  diagnose.

I worked as a physiotherapist in a private rehab center with ambulatory care.
I had a variety of clients  including athletes.

I arrived in New Zealand a couple of months ago and fell in love with this country immediately.
Since I can't work here as a physiotherapist, and I love helping people, I decided to use my massage skills.

I believe that massage, trigger point release, myofascial mobilization and more are important parts of the healing process.
I always look at the body as a whole and try to focus on the key problems.
I also understand how frustrating it is to feel pain and not being able to perform at your best.

I am a keen outdoor person, love hiking and tramping and sleeping under a dark starry sky is definitely one of my favorite activities.

I  also enjoy  skiing, snowboarding, volleyball, via ferrata climbing, indoor climbing and hopefully one day outdoor climbing and last but not least yoga.
I also like to try new activities such as white water canoeing, paragliding or canyoning.
I am looking forward to meet you and work with you to achieve the best possible results.

Paige - I am a Canadian trained remedial massage therapist.

I have 5 years of experience, working in a clinical environment alongside other health providers.
I enjoy blending clinical work with relaxation techniques to give a focused rhythmic treatment.
I love the outdoors, hiking, walking, biking, and adventuring. I enjoy playing music and learning new skills.

Mareike – I am from Germany and qualified as a physiotherapist in 2007.

Within my degree I have been trained in a wide range of different stretch and massage techniques, from myofascial release, to relaxation, to trigger point therapy and deep tissue. I also have a profound anatomy and physiology knowledge.

I’ve been working in a private physio practice for 12 years where I saw a range of clients with various physical complaints, such as back pain, sport injuries, and post surgery rehab. I am experienced in hands on massage techniques and my clients told me I have golden hands.

I also have a certificate in manual lymphatic drainage and been constantly practicing since 2008.

In my free time I love to be outside, in my veggie garden or for activities like hiking, biking, swimming and in winter cross country skiing. I am currently volunteering at Nordic ski field. I also practice yoga and pilates.
